Dr Thani assists in the evaluation and care of people undergoing functional neurosurgery at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is involved in the surgical operations and research into the neurophysiology and clinical potential of the caudal zona incerta in the treatment of tremor and Parkinson's disease. He has an additional interest in the mechanism of action of deep brain stimulation.
